An extremely classy Champagne that will impress any guest or cellar for a special occasion. It has the perfect flavour profile for serving as an aperitif or with food and is particularly good with rich poultry dishes.
Made with 50% GRAND CRU Pinot Noir grapes from Mailly and 50% PREMIER CRU Chardonnay grapes from Taissy. The average age of the vines is 45 years (read lots of flavour!).
Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, of the 2012 Vintage: Rich and very elegant bouquet, a distinctive autolysis core with aromas of whole wheat bread and bricoche, there’s a baked raw nut quality then aromas of baked apple and pear, some strawberry and bottle-aged complexities. Toasty, equally rich, very complex and dry on the palate. The mousse is persistent with a fine bubbles and satin texture, acidity medium+ and overall harmonious. Excellent drinking from 2022 through 2026. 95 Points (="OUTSTANDING"), April 2022.
Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, of the 2016 Vintage: Pale to mid straw hues, very bright and scented with aromas of citrus and apple, white chalk and pale clay earthy qualities, button mushroom, white strawberry and peach. A youthful bouquet with an autolysis of oatmeal and freshly baked cooked, some buttered pastry. Delicious, fresh, layered and fine with persistent flavours carried through a fine mousse structure framed by a core of acidity and flavours. An excellent example, still developing with best drinking from 2023 through 2030. Exceptional value. 95 Points (="OUTSTANDING"), Nov 2023.
